Aryna Sabalenka is in good form but given Pavlyuchenkova took her close gives DTM more than a little hope she can win the final.  Keys is playing far better than the Russian. I expect Madison Keys to have a real chance at claiming her first grand slam title. The only thing that needs to happen is her mentality to believe that it’s her time.

Madison Keys beats Iga :)

DTM was in excellent form as he successfully predicted wins for Emma Navarro and Madison Keys. His near 11/4 double was a great return for anyone following him this week :) Madison Keys advised at the start now has to beat E.Svitolina to win her section of the draw and set up a big semi final match up. But given her long odds at the outset every match from now on allows you to invest on each opponent yet still guarantee a profit. This is a great situation to be in if anyone took each way prices as big as 70-1 once the draw was made.

Expect Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff to win and therefore create a mouth watering semi-final in the top half. Meanwhile Iga Swiatek continues to look good and as yet has not been tested? It will be an interesting match against Navarro but DTM expects the number 2 seed to prevail :)

DTM recommends

Top 3 seeds all to win :)

M.Keys to beat E.Svitolina

Madison Keys keeps on winning :)

Emma Navarro is a proven hard court player who has already come through 3 tough matches. She should take care of Kasatkina. Madison Keys is still going strong and has a decent shot at beating Elena Rybakina. Rybakina has fitness concerns after coming through her 3 matches to date. If Keys plays well she can push Rybakina:)

On other surfaces having Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Jasmine Paolini and Daria Kasatkina in the other half may be reasonable but none of these players can be stated as being better than any of those seeds in the top half especially on this surface and at this point in time.

The first grand slam of the year arrives very quickly. It is the same every year in Australia although this year January 12th seems even earlier than before. The event will be done and dusted before the end of the first calendar month of the year. It will be very interesting to see if the form of players evidenced in Riyadh and at the start of the year in Brisbane continues in Melbourne ? Will Aryna Sabalenka make it a 3peat? Will Coco come to the party or will QInwen Zheng finally get over the line ? Certainly you would be a brave person to predict a winner outside of these 3 star names. Depending on the draw it would be sensible to go with the player who avoids having to win back to back crunch games. Gauff could be placed in Aryna's half with Qinwen Zheng in the same quarter. Or they could all avoid each other until the semi-final and final. DTM believes Coco Gauff will be best placed to come out on top from an impossibly difficult top half.  At the relative odds Madison Keys each way having been placed in the far easier bottom half. She is  a sensible option. DTM having seen the draw has two recommendations.

DTM recommends

Coco Gauff to win the Australian Open (7-2)

Madison Keys to win her quarter (9-2) & make the final  (66-1 each way)
