Jannik Sinner becomes World Number One. Despite losing to Carlos Alcaraz in the semi final at Roland Garros Sinner claimed the number one spot after Novak Djokovic's injury. Alcatraz remains the King of clay and Alexander Zverev runs him a close 2nd after reaching the final. In terms of the rankings the top 2 in real terms remain Sinner and Alcaraz. This looks set for the rest of the season. Both Zverev and Alex De Minaur are on the way up and in form. Djokovic is clearly struggling to stop Father Time catching up with him. Injuries are a consistent issue and also his movement. He is unlikely to trouble the majors now and so best avoided. Casper Ruud is not a grass court player so worth taking on at Wimbledon. Outside the top 10 Felix Auger-Aliassime and Seb Korda are both on the way up and playing much better.
