WTA500 Singapore Open September 21st to 27th

The week has gone from bad to worse for DTM as the indoor conditions in Singapore continue to provide shock after shock. Maybe there's a reason so few events are inside:) Today Chawlinska is the value to beat Fernandez on courts that seemingly are much slower than people were expecting?

Mirra Andreeva is the player to beat this week if you want to win the title. Fernandez will try but this should go the way of the #1 seed. Elise Mertens is also in conditions to suit and she should over power Chawlinska in these conditions.

E.Mertens to beat M.Chawlinska

An eventful start to the event has already seen the withdrawal of Amanda Anisimova which has opened up the bottom half. Xinyu Wang looked very impressive in beating Vekic and she will be the main danger to Alex Eala come the weekend. Alex will win her opening match against the Russian but the finalist from this half will definitely be decided on Friday as whoever wins between Alex Eala and Xinyu Wang is likely to make the final.

A.Eala to beat T.Prozorova

Donna Vekic v Xinyu Wang is the tie of the opening round in Singapore. This match promises to be a great spectacle with either player potentially coming through. A lot will depend on how well Vekic is serving and whether she can win in straight sets. The longer the match goes the more Wang becomes favourite. Across the other first round matches Daria Kasatkina is a good option as is Talia Gibson in their respective matches. Last time Alycia Parks played indoors her serve was a serious weapon in Romania. Her game should be a handful for Tjen and at the prices is worth a shot:)

Mirra Andreeva is the #1 seed at this event with the American, Amanda Anisimova the #2 seed. Alex Eala has been positioned in the bottom half as the #3 seed and is likely to reach at least the semi final. Given the indoor conditions the American is favoured to dominate on serve assuming she is 100% fit and ready to go.
