Round 2/3

Round 3

Anna Kalinskaya has flattered for a number of years. Her game is definitely top 10 material but for several seasons her inconsistencies have left her ranked outside the top 20. 2026 has seen a more consistent Kalinskaya compete evenly each time she has played. She will want to beat Iva Jovic and based on this week's form she probably will:) The good news for Madison Keys followers is she is playing well. He match with Bencic is key if she is indeed to threaten winning this week.

DTM recommends

A.Kalinskaya to beat I.Jovic

Round 2/3

Round 3

McCartney Kessler looked in very good form in her opening victory. She is the better option against fellow America Peyton Stearns who is not known for her clay court form. Yulia Starodubtseva is also worth considering to beat Renata Zarazua. She is another player in form this week and full of confidence.

DTM recommends

M.Kessler to beat P.Stearns

Y.Starodubtseva to beat R.Zarazua

Round 2/3

Maria Sakkari has had an improved season to date. On this surface against Paula Badosa she is the favourite in DTM's eyes. Yet she is seen as the slight outsider by others? Definitely worth an interest given Sakkari's clay court form overall. Badosa has not found any form this year and all her wins have been in isolation. The Greek has the belief to win this:)

DTM recommends

M.Sakkari to beat P.Badosa

Round 2/3

The 16 seeded players are in action now having received a bye. Iva Jovic faces the big hitting American, Alycia Parks. This will be especially interesting after Jovic was easily beaten by Gibson in her last match against a big hitter. Whether Parks can be as consistent remains to be seen? Anna Kalinskaya will be far too good for Viktoriya Tomova. McCartney Kessler will also be use tot he surface after her first round match. Tjen is not a clay court exponent. Back the American here:)

DTM recommends

A.Kalinskaya to beat V.Tomova

M.Kessler to beat J.Tjen

Yulia Starodubtseva is a difficult player to predict but on this surface she will be far too consistent against Shuai Zhang who is not known for her slow clay court form. Zakharova has been winning a lot of matches in qualifying and will be the sensible choice to overcome Yastremska who is not winning many matches and is also not a clay court fan. Yulia Putintseva is playing much better than this time last year. On this surface she should account for Lulu Sun.

DTM recommends

Y.Starodubtseva to beat S.Zhang

A.Zakharova to beat D.Yastremska

Y.Putintseva to beat L.Sun

Jessica Pegula is the #1 seed and plays again after two big events back to back. Whether this proves to be a sensible strategy will depend on how she does this week. In her half, the top half she has the potential of playing some familiar players including Iva Jovic, Sofia Kenin and Anna Kalinskaya? However on this green clay surface you can expect a few shocks on the way. DTM prefers to look at the bottom half for someone to do well. Alexandrova is not an imposing #2 seed and is not likely to fulfil this seeding. Madison Keys is however playing a lot better and her defeats this season don't look that bad. Losing to Mboko, Sabalenka and Pegula is not an issue. Her other 2 losses were in close 3 set matches so it is fair to say she is playing better. I can see her getting to the last 8 where she would potentially face Bejlek or Bencic. Both of these players are not guaranteed to be on top form. Bejlek is coming back from injury and Bencic is inconsistent from week to week.

DTM recommends

Madison Keys each way Charleston title
